Since I was a toddler I have had a love for fashion. My parents tell me at age three I demanded only “pwetty dresses”, by age 13 my room was covered in fashion magazine clippings, and by high school I was taking fashion merchandising classes. It wasn’t until a week into my Freshmen year of college I had ever really thought about pursuing fashion as a career. I had a lightbulb moment and switched my major from Pre-dental to Fashion Merchandising. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising and left ten days later for Manhattan.
I moved to New York for an internship on Fashion Ave, and in five days turned it into a salary position as a sales assistant. Six months later, I had come to a few realizations. I was tired of running 100mph in heels and I wanted to be my own boss, but I couldn’t afford to do it in NYC. So I moved back home to Richmond, VA and moved in with my parents. A year later, I married my high school sweetheart, and two years later I started my business, TAILOR; an online women’s clothing store specializing in on-trend, quality apparel.
My life as an entrepreneur lead me to create a platform to share my story and style; TAILORED focuses on my style diary, travels, business, and entrepreneurial spirit.
